Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting, Braga and Vitória de Guimarães renew B-team registrations for 2026/27 and 2027/28

The LPFP said in a statement on Tuesday that Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting, Braga and Vitória de Guimarães have renewed registrations for their B teams for 2026/27 and 2027/28.

Benfica B and FC Porto B have featured in the II Liga without interruption for 14 seasons.

Sporting B returned to the second tier this season, following relegation in 2017/18 after six consecutive campaigns from 2012/13.

Braga B and Vitória de Guimarães B currently play in Liga 3, yet have secured renewals for the next two seasons in case of promotion.

Both Minho clubs were involved when B teams rejoined the II Liga in 2012/13. Braga B stayed for seven straight seasons until relegation in 2018/19, while Vitória B went down after their debut campaign, came back in 2014/15, then were relegated in the same season as their rivals.
