André Correia will remain with Benfica for 2026/27 after a U-turn, despite head coach Cassiano Klein previously saying he would depart.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 28-year-old Portugal international attended the start of pre-season on Saturday, one August, confirming his inclusion under Klein.

At the end of last season, everything pointed towards his exit, with Braga showing interest.

Klein’s comments had seemed to foreshadow farewells for Correia alongside Diego Nunes, Jacaré and Higor de Souza. Correia came very close to joining another club this summer, but the move did not progress and he remained at the Luz.

He contributed at pivotal moments on the way to back-to-back titles, notably with a standout display in the third game of the Liga Placard final, which drew public praise from Klein.

His continuity gives Benfica an experienced option in goal as they target all fronts again, including defending the National Championship and competing in the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
