Benfica are still working on a deal for Rio Ave winger André Luiz, a target for Mourinho, and their stance has not changed after his recent display and conduct against them.

According to A Bola, André Luiz remains committed to Rio Ave while he waits for clearance to head to Lisbon, and he does not want to be swayed by the steady flow of reports.

He has tried to shut out the noise, which was evident after Saturday's match, when he stayed close to his team-mates and avoided any contact with Benfica, the report said.

He is enthusiastic about the prospect of joining Benfica, yet he prefers to focus on football and leave negotiations to his agent and the two clubs. The report added that contract terms with Benfica are already verbally agreed.

This season for Rio Ave, the winger, valued at four million euros and under contract until June 2029, has played 19 matches, 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic and one in the Taça de Portugal. Across 1,463 minutes he has scored seven goals and supplied five assists.
