Benfica v AFS: Miguel Fonseca appointed to referee Liga Portugal Betclic clash

Miguel Fonseca has been appointed to referee Benfica v AFS in the 23rd round of the Liga Portugal Betclic at Estádio da Luz on Saturday, 21 February, with kick-off at 18:00.

According to Glorioso 1904, the AF Porto official has been named by the Portuguese federation’s refereeing council to take charge of the fixture.

Fonseca will be assisted by João Martins and David Soares, with Hélder Malheiro acting as fourth official.

The video operation will feature Paulo Barradas as VAR and Rui Cidade as AVAR.

The assignment comes after a midweek Champions League defeat for Benfica, and amid fresh controversy that also involves Gianluca Prestianni following alleged racist insults towards Vinicius Jr.
