Bernardo Silva bade an emotional farewell to Manchester City at the Etihad, with tributes before kick-off and a post-match address following the meeting with Aston Villa.
According to Glorioso 1904, City lost 2-1 at home to Aston Villa, the newly crowned Europa League winners.
He told the crowd it was hard to express what he feels for City and its supporters, adding he thinks he will never feel the same at another club. He thanked fans, saying the love he received at City is unlikely to be matched.
Silva ends a nine-season spell in which he won every major team honour, including the Champions League in a final played in Istanbul. He described City as a family and said he is eternally grateful.
The night also brought farewells for defender John Stones and manager Pep Guardiola. Without a club, the Portugal international will take his career in a new direction this summer.
