Bernardo Silva takes part in first Real Madrid training session | OneFootball

The new Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho began his fourth week of preseason training today. During the first three weeks of training, the Merengues have played two training games and also played their first friendly of the summer, against Fiorentina, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

However, the Portuguese coach is still without some of the players who participated in the World Cup. Arda Guler was the first one to return to training, as he reported to Valdebebas in the second week of preseason. Several other players have returned in the ensuing weeks.

As Diario AS has reported, three more World Cup players reported to Mourinho for training today. The most exciting of these must have been the Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva, who met his new teammates and coach today. Vinicius Junior and Brahim Diaz were the other two players who joined training today. These three players underwent medical tests and then also participated in the training session.

Before Silva, two other new signings, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Espi, had joined the club after having been signed this summer. Now, Ibrahima Konate and Marc Cucurella remain the players who have already been signed but who are yet to join their new club. Of these five new signings, only Espi remains to be registered with La Liga.

Being a newcomer, Silva must have attracted most of the spotlight. However, the case of Vinicius is also intriguing, as he has only a single year left on his contract with Real Madrid, and the club and the player are expected to restart renewal negotiations now that he has returned from the World Cup and his holidays, with Arsenal reportedly closely monitoring his situation.

For his part, Brahim Diaz will also be looking forward to convincing Jose Mourinho to consider him as an important player, especially as competition for the right wing and attacking midfield positions is going to intensity next season.
