Real Betis could turn their attention to Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos after suffering a major setback with Isco’s injury, claims a report from AS.
The La Liga club confirmed that their star playmaker will be out for around three months following a blow to his left ankle during Saturday’s game at La Rosaleda against Malaga.
Isco, who left the stadium on crutches with his ankle in a splint, has been diagnosed with “a new fracture without displacement in the middle third of his left fibula.”
As a result of these events, it is said that he will undergo conservative treatment over the coming weeks, and his return will depend on how his recovery progresses.
The loss of Isco is a big blow for Betis, especially now that the new 2025/26 season is a mere week away.
Understandably, it could also force the club to reconsider their transfer plans, which until now have been focused on securing Manchester United winger Antony.

The injury to Isco may push Betis towards reigniting their interest in Dani Ceballos.
The midfielder, who has struggled for regular minutes at Real Madrid, has always been open to returning to Betis, where he began his professional career.
According to the aforementioned outlet, the possibility of signing Ceballos has never been completely ruled out by Betis and now, with Isco’s absence, it has become an even more realistic option.
As such, Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old but will only consider letting him leave if a bid in the region of €10–12 million is made.
With the transfer window still open, Betis could move quickly to strengthen their midfield. Ceballos’ vision, passing range, and familiarity with the club make him a logical choice to fill the gap left by Isco’s unfortunate injury.
