The Juventus Men’s First Team picked up three points on the road on Serie A Matchday 29, returning home from Friuli-Venezia Giulia with a 1-0 win over Udinese.

Jeremie Boga got the game’s only goal, marking the third straight game in which he has scored.

THE MATCH REPORT

The opening exchanges saw chances come few and far between. Boga was the first to get in behind at either end inside a quarter of an hour, but approaching goal at an unfavourable angle, he wasn’t able to pose too much of a threat when he got into the box.

Khephren Thuram had an effort a few minutes later, but shot over the crossbar. At the other end, Mattia Perin was on hand to deny Arthur Atta with a routine save.

After the half-hour mark, it was again Boga who got in on the left of the box, but his effort was again saved by Maduka Okoye.

It was that familiar left side of the box that brought about our opener. This time it was Kenan Yildiz who managed to find a pocket of space to work his way into, before selflessly squaring for Boga to tap into an open goal.

A matter of moments after scoring, Boga returned to that left-hand side of the box in search of a second. In pretty much the same spot from where Yildiz had assisted him shortly before, he drove a shot at Okoye’s near post, but the hosts’ ‘keeper reacted well to turn it away with his feet.

Teun Koopmeiners came on for Thuram early in the second half, and a big chance fell his way shortly after, but the No.8 could only head over from in front of Okoye’s goal.

A lovely piece of combination play between Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao ended with the latter seeming to put the Bianconeri two goals ahead, only for VAR to intervene and rule Koopmeiners to have been in a position of interference while offside.

More changes came, naturally, as the game progressed, and the most noteworthy of those saw Fabio Miretti come off the bench for his 100th Juventus appearance.

But there were to be no more goals, and the Bianconeri head home from Udine with all three points.
