The writing would appear to be on the wall for one Liverpool striker following his mother’s hint that “big news” is coming soon.
Keyrol Figueroa, 19, has been in inspired form for Rob Page’s under-21’s this season - scoring 11 times in 14 Premier League 2 games.
But the United States U20 international has been absent from the scene for the last couple of months. It’s previously been reported by the striker’s mother - Sandra Norales - that Figueroa was suffering from an injury.
And his absence coincided with a period of uncertainty around his Liverpool future.
The club had plans to tie up a new contract for the Honduras-born No9 in January before sending him out on loan. But Figueroa did not sign a new deal and stayed at the AXA Training Centre for the second half of the campaign.
Worryingly for Liverpool the son of Wigan legend Maynor Figueroa ended up joining Federico Pastorello’s influential P&P Sport Management agency - hinting that a change of club could be on the way.
Porto and PSV are among the teams linked with a move for the prodigious teenager - whose international future lies between the USA and Honduras.
And following his mother’s latest declaration it would appear that a decision over his next destination is closer than ever.
“Back again Keyrol Figueroa,” she wrote on X. “After his injury, two months of work, decisions, changes, and big news could be coming.”
Figueroa was called up to Arne Slot’s first team earlier in the season for an EFL Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.
With Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak ahead of him in the senior pecking order it looks unlikely that he will be able to make the breakthrough at Anfield.
Therefore Figueroa now looks set for a lucrative free transfer at the end of the season and he will be taking his finely-honed goalscoring instincts with him.
