AC Milan are one of the clubs who are interested in signing Patrick Wimmer from VfL Wolfsburg, according to a report from Germany.
BILD have published a piece which has the title: ‘Milan and Juve chase Bundesliga super-dribbler’. The two Serie A clubs – plus one from England – are keen on signing the Wolfsburg star having been impressed by his performances this season so far.
For Milan, their desire to overhaul the attack seems obvious. Alvaro Morata seems to be closing in on a move to Galatasaray with Santiago Gimenez the main option to replace him at the moment, but there is movement on the flanks too.
Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze are both being linked with exits in the closing stages of the January mercato. Okafor in fact was close to heading to the Bundesliga before his RB Leipzig transfer collapsed, with Spurs now the team linked.
Wimmer meanwhile is a 23-year-old Austria international who plays mainly on the right side. He has one goal and four assists in 16 Bundesliga games so far this season.
The report goes on to state that Milan and Juve are more looking at a deal for the summer, but Leicester City could try push a deal through now. The player would be open to listening to offers, but Wolfsburg would rather he stay.
