Birmingham City drew 1-1 with Sheffield United in the Championship, rising from 10th to ninth after a first half red card and a saved penalty shaped the game.

In the 23rd minute, Femi Seriki was sent off for the visitors. Marvin Ducksch then whipped a free-kick into the top right (25.).

A handball by Jack Robinson gave the Blades a penalty (27.). James Beadle saved Sydie Peck's effort low to his left (30.).

Patrick Bamford equalised in the third minute of first half stoppage time, sliding in after Harrison Burrows' through ball on a counter.

Ducksch rattled the bar three times as Birmingham pressed. Adam Davies made six saves to keep the Blades level.
