Birmingham City host Queens Park Rangers in the Championship at St Andrew's on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, with both sides aiming to arrest poor runs and firm up mid-table positions.
Queens Park Rangers won the reverse meeting 2-1 in December. Birmingham City start in 13th on 49 points, with Queens Park Rangers 16th on 47.
Birmingham have lost three in a row after defeats at Millwall, at home to Middlesbrough and at Charlton, having previously won at Norwich. Queens Park Rangers have lost four of their last five, including heavy reverses at Southampton and against Middlesbrough.
Injuries shape the visitors' options: Rumarn Burrell, their 10-goal forward, is out, while Illias Chair and Nicolas Madsen, who has six assists this season, are also sidelined. Karamoko Dembele and Ziyad Larkeche remain unavailable, with Justin Obikwu also out. For the hosts, Thomas Doyle, Alexander William Cochrane and James Beadle are absent.
Birmingham average 54% possession with 79.53% pass accuracy and deliver a high volume of open-play crosses at 17.74% accuracy, helping produce 10 headed goals. That supply could test a Queens Park Rangers back line that has conceded 58 league goals despite nine clean sheets. Marvin Ducksch and Jay Stansfield, both on nine this season, carry the hosts' threat. The visitors have won 825 aerial duels and may lean on set pieces and direct deliveries.
A win would take Birmingham to 52 points and could lift them from 13th towards the top half. Queens Park Rangers would reach 50 points with victory and could rise from 16th, moving further away from the relegation places.
