Inter are one day out from their return to Champions League action, where they will face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday at 21:00 CET for the final matchday of the league phase. Speaking from the BVB Stadion Dortmund, Yann Bisseck looked ahead to the challenge in his pre-match press conference.

You're facing a very well-respected side in Germany. What's your current opinion on Borussia Dortmund?

“They’re a strong side. They reached the Champions League final a few years ago, and competing with Bayern in the Bundesliga is never easy. We’ll need to be very serious and aggressive. With their fans it won’t be easy, but we’re well prepared and we want to win.”

What's your personal experience of that atmosphere? Is the "Yellow Wall" intimidating? Is it a factor?

“As players, we don't think about that. It’s always great to play in a stadium like this – there’s no fear. San Siro is also an incredible ground with passionate fans. Hopefully it will be a great night.”

What will be needed tomorrow?

“We’ll need grit and belief. We’ll be hungry and determined, but it’s also important to stay clear-headed. We can’t be overwhelmed by emotions – we have to bring quality onto the pitch to give a strong performance.”

Which areas do you need to improve on within defensive transitions?

“It’s always about individual responsibility. When the ball is loose, everyone wants to win it. We have to be sharper and more ruthless, with the hunger to keep a clean sheet. If we do that, results will improve.”

Which players do you see as real threats?

“In the Champions League there are always top players: Guirassy, Adeyemi, Beier, and many others. But we’re strong defensively too. We need to work together and give our best; that’s how we can keep getting stronger.”

Would you be willing to play further forward, as a wing-back?

“That’s a question for the coach. I just want to play and do what the manager asks to help the team.”

Do you see the contract extension as a sign of trust for the future?

“It’s normal for the club to speak with agents. My focus is on playing and helping the team. Anything else is a bonus. I’m happy to wear this shirt and I hope to keep doing so.”
