The Toon teenagers fell behind in the first half at Rovers' Football Academy following Henry Johnson's unfortunate own goal.

Newcastle's youngsters, however, equalised in the 55th minute after Harry Holt's own goal before turning the contest in their favour as Kacey Wooster fired the visitors ahead with his eighth league goal of the 2025/26 campaign, scoring in a third consecutive league game.

Archie McCoy's penalty drew Rovers level in the latter stages before Joseph's effort in the final minutes proved the difference in Lancashire.

Newcastle United Under-18s take on local rivals Sunderland in their upcoming Under-18 Premier League North fixture on Saturday, 7th March, hosting their Black Cats counterparts at the Magpies' Little Benton Academy (kick-off 11am GMT).
