Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij is a doubt for tomorrow’s Serie A match against Como due to a fitness concern.
This according to Italian outlet Pazzi di Fanta. They report that the 32-year-old has left training early due to a physical problem.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has already been dealing with a few notable injuries in defense.
Francesco Acerbi and Benjamin Pavard are both currently on the sidelines. They have missed the past few weeks with thigh strains.
In both cases, Acerbi and Pavard should be available soon. However, they will be out for tomorrow’s Serie A match against Como.
In the absence of Acerbi and Pavard, the back three of Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, and Yann Bisseck has become clearly first-choice.
That trio has started most of Inter’s matches in December.
It comes as a significant blow, therefore, if de Vrij joins Acerbi and Pavard on the injury list.
The Dutchman has put in a string of solid performances in recent weeks.
De Vrij’s form has ensured that Inter have not missed Acerbi too much.
However, Pazzi di Fanta report, de Vrij pulled out of training early today. This was due to a physical issue.
Therefore, it is a significant doubt whether de Vrij will be available for Inter’s Serie A match against Como tomorrow.
It could therefore fall to Yann Bisseck to start in the centre of the back three. The German started there against Udinese in the Coppa Italia on Thursday.
