Boca deny contacting Miguel Borja after the striker said he would not close the door on a move, but they have not ruled it out.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, there has been no approach and a club source says it is not a possibility at this moment.

The club are already shaping their 2026 squad, with the Copa Libertadores the priority and the summer window seen as key to adding quality reinforcements.

The Tierralta-born forward departs after almost three years at River Plate, where he played 159 games and scored 62 goals. He previously came close to Boca before finances scuppered that deal.

Despite the noise, a switch to Boca is viewed as unlikely and another club is keen with a lucrative offer. Cruz Azul are said to have a verbal agreement. Although River have bid him farewell, he will be a free agent on the first of January and can only sign after that.
