Having been away from games or training for over a week, Miguel Ángel Russo, the coach of Boca Juniors, is receiving treatment at home with an 'uncertain prognosis'.
The 69-year-old Argentine coach has been battling prostate cancer with his club announcing a concerning update on his health.
"Club Atlético Boca Juniors reports that Miguel Ángel Russo is currently hospitalised at home with an uncertain prognosis, receiving continuous care from his medical team and the club's medical staff. We stand by Miguel and his family during this time," reads the statement shared by the Argentinian club
According to the Argentine outlet Olé, the health condition of the Boca Juniors coach is 'delicate', mentioning 'critical hours' and revealing that the former player 'fights for his life'. Moreover, Juan Román Riquelme, president of the Buenos Aires emblem, visited Miguel Ángel Russo at home this Monday.
The experienced coach from Lanús was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017 and has been battling various health issues since then.
