According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Boca have reopened negotiations with Estudiantes de La Plata to sign Edwuin Cetré, stepping in after Athletico Paranaense's deal stalled following medical checks.

The transfer to the Furacao was close to completion when an issue was flagged during tests in Curitiba. Athletico then withdrew their initial offer to buy 100 percent of the 28-year-old's rights.

Seeking to save the move, Athletico proposed a revised package with partial acquisition, safeguard clauses and a lower fixed fee. Estudiantes rejected those terms as undervaluing the player, and Cetré returned to the squad to play the clásico platense.

Boca, by contrast, did not step back because of the medical findings. They recalibrated their sporting and financial plan and have offered a loan with an obligation to buy, aiming to balance risk and satisfy Estudiantes before Boca's window extension lapses.

Boca view Cetré as a player of stature for their colours and are prepared to take responsibility for his conditioning, so long as the financial terms reflect the present context.

At 28, the Colombian fits the profile of a direct winger with goals, and his time at Estudiantes showed he can decide tight games. The saga appears to be entering its final stretch, with Estudiantes weighing the numbers and Boca preparing for a move that could turn a failed overseas transfer into a strategic addition.
