Lazio will be aiming to extend their positive run when they travel to Emilia-Romagna to take on Bologna this weekend.
The Serie A clash between Bologna and Lazio kicks off at 15:00 local time on Sunday, March 22, at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Vincenzo Italiano’s men beat the odds to prevail over Roma in an epic Europa League header that ended 5-4 on aggregate, thanks to Nicolo Cambiaghi’s extra-time winner at the Stadio Olimpico. They have now booked their place in the quarter-finals against Aston Villa.
Since getting thumped out of the Coppa Italia at the hands of Lazio, Bologna have been enjoying a positive run, barring the shocking home defeat to Hellas Verona. They have beaten Torino, Udinese, Pisa and most recently Sassuolo in Serie A, in addition to eliminating Brann and Roma in Europe.
The Rossoblu currently sit 8th in the league, five points behind Atalanta. Therefore, they need a victory over Lazio to remain within a striking distance of 7th place, which could guarantee them a place in Europe next season.
The Biancocelesti have recently climbed to 9th place in the standings, and a win on Sunday would see them overtake Bologna. Maurizio Sarri’s team is enjoying a mini resurgence, having finally won back-to-back Serie A contests this season.
Lazio began March with a disappointing defeat in Torino, extending their winless run to four. Nevertheless, they managed to bounce back with a last-gasp win over Sassuolo, before upsetting Milan last weekend thanks to Gustav Isaksen’s solitary goal.
The Aquile’s main objective remains clinching the Coppa Italia, but they won’t play the return leg against Atalanta before April 22. The first encounter at the Stadio Olimpico had ended in a 2-2 draw.
Bologna (4-2-3-1): Ravaglia; Zortea, Vitik, Lucumi, Joao Mario; Freuler, Pobega; Bernardeschi; Ferguson, Rowe; Castro.
Lazio (4-3-3): Motta; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Tavares; Dele-Bashiru, Patric, Taylor; Isaksen, Maldini, Pedro.
With both sides riding high on confidence, we can at least expect to witness an entertaining encounter. Beating the two capital sides in the space of three days would be quite an achievement for Bologna.
However, Italiano’s men have less than 72 hours to recover from their gruelling encounter against Roma, which lasted more than 120 minutes. Therefore, Lazio should have a significant advantage from a physical standpoint, which could make all the difference in the closing stages.
