Another Inter night, another win that showed strenght and character. In Rome, on the seventh matchday of Serie A, the Nerazzurri beat the Giallorossi 1-0 thanks to Ange-Yoan Bonny's break in the 6th minute. A strike of genius that secured Inter's sixth consecutive win across all competitions and reinforces an excellent start to the season.
One shot, accurate and lethal, was all it took to make history. Bonny’s goal in the 6th minute was in fact Inter’s fastest against Roma in Serie A since 2011, when Wesley Sneijder opened the scoring at the Meazza after just three minutes
With three goals and three assists in the first seven Nerazzuri performance in the league, Bonny is the first Inter player, since Serie A returned to 20 teams (in 2004/05), to achieve this double milestone. Born in 2003, Bonny has been a standout for Inter, contributing to six goals in this competition, more than any of Chivu’s other players, and scoring in back-to-back matches, after scoring against Cremonese.
Following this win, Inter become the first team in Serie A history to win five away games to Roma in a row, with an aggregate score of 11-2 in the last five games at the Olimpico. The Nerazzurri have also avoided defeat for nine games in a row at Roma (6 wins and 3 draws), an unprecedented result for the Club.
This is the 80th win in Serie A against Roma for Inter (out of 185 total, with 54 draws and 51 losses). No other team has been beaten by the Nerazzurri as many times in the top flight.”
Bonny's goal meant much more than three points. In fact, Inter reached 300 goals against Roma in Serie, becoming the first team in league history to reach this target against a single opponent. A stat that reflects a fixture that promises for goals and unforgettable moments.
Inter are the only team in Serie A to already have three players with at least three goals each: Ange-Yoan Bonny, Lautaro Martínez, and Marcus Thuram. Across Europe’s top five leagues, only Bayern Munich have more (four players) highlighting the quality of the Nerazzurri’s attacking lineup.
The night at the Olimpico also brought a prestigious personal milestone for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who celebrated his 100th victory wearing the Inter shirt across all competitions. A quiet, consistent leader, he is an integral part of a squad that is continuing to grow.
