Borussia Dortmund star giving real consideration to Real Madrid move | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund star Nico Schlotterbeck has opened the door to a potential move to Spain with Real Madrid.

This comes amid confirmation that the defender is inching ever closer to bringing a close to his time at Signal Iduna Park.

Schlotterbeck is due to see his Dortmund contract terms expire in the summer of 2027.

With the German international having made clear that he has no intention of signing a renewal, though, the widespread expectaction is that he will be sold come the end of the season.

With as much in mind, a number of Europe’s leading clubs have been tipped as potential destinations.

And two such suitors, it would appear, have emerged as the current frontrunners in the eyes of Schlotterbeck himself.

As per a report from Sky Germany, the 26-year-old is ‘gambling’ on a move to either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

The latter’s chase, though, would only come to fruition in the case of Dayot Upamecano departing upon the close of his own contract.

Real Madrid, on the lookout for reinforcements at centre-back, could therefore be left with a clear path to bring Schlotterbeck to the Bernabéu for next season.
