Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund are interested in bolstering their attacking options with Norwich City striker Ante Crnac. The 21-year-old could serve as a back-up to Bundesliga star Serhou Guirassy, but also play behind Guirassy as a winger.
Crnac may serve as an ideal fit under current BVB head coach Niko Kovac, who happens to be his Croatian compatriot. Kovac also helped German striker Maximilian Beier thrive as an attacker working behind Guirassy this season.
With a market value of €8m, per Transfermarkt, Norwich might be willing to part company with Crnac, who did once cost the Canaries €11m. A semi-successful season which saw the Croatian youth international score seven goals in the EFL Championship wasn’t necessarily a failure, but the chance flip Crnac for a profit wouldn’t be turned down.
Cranc counts as a cheaper alternative to another Dortmund target, Freiburg winger Ritsu Doan. Freiburg will likely demand €20m or more for their top goal-scorer.
To make matters more interesting still, Dortmund and Freiburg are directly contesting the final Champions League spot on the final matchday of the Bundesliga season.
