The Barcelona first team continues to excel under the guidance of Hansi Flick. Just recently, the team managed to demolish Daegu FC in their final preseason tour fixture. Moreover, many Barcelona players managed to get a chance to shine as well.
However, one player who got no minutes at all was 17-year-old Guille Fernandez. While his cousin and close friend Toni Fernandez came on in the second half and even grabbed a goal, he was forced to watch on from the sidelines without getting to make an impact.
As for his future at the club, there is already a lot of competition for the midfield spots, and it seems unlikely that Guille would end up getting many chances under Hansi Flick. However, an update from Germany suggests that the player is now on a Bundesliga team’s radar.

According to Bild (via Mundo Deportivo), German side Borussia Dortmund is very interested in the 17-year-old Barcelona talent. This is not the first time that they have been linked to the young player, but it certainly seems to be an indication of strong interest.
As of right now, it remains to be seen whether they wish to pursue his signing as a permanent transfer or as a loan operation, but the interest seems genuine enough. However, a move to Dortmund could guarantee Guille Fernandez more opportunities than he would get with the Barcelona first team.
With other midfielders also being linked to foreign clubs, there seems to be a lot of speculation regarding midfield exits in particular this summer. As for Guille Fernandez, he might need to seriously reconsider his future at Barcelona.
