Enzo Maresca hopes Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson are ok following injury scares in the win against West Ham on Monday night.
Chelsea responded from their defeat against Manchester City last time out to record a vital 2-1 win against the Hammers after trailing 1-0 at half time.
The Blues moved backed into the top four thanks to Pedro Neto’s second half strike and an own goal from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Chelsea didn’t sign another attacker in the transfer window and the last thing they wanted would have been an injury to Jackson.
The 23-year-old went down in the first half, and it seemed like he was going to be replace by Guiu, but he carried on before being replaced early in the second half.
Jackson has still yet to score in 2025, although Maresca has backed him to start scoring again, whilst his replacement Guiu worked hard in just his third league appearance of the season.
Guiu appeared to injure himself late on against West Ham.
However, the Spaniard slipped in the box late on and looked like he hurt himself, which would be a huge blow for Maresca given the lack of options upfront.
Chelsea will be sweating on the fitness of the duo, but speaking after the game the Italian seemed to have a positive update.
“Nico and Marc both said to me that they are OK so hopefully no one is injured,” he said as cited by journalist Kieran Gill on X.com.
That certainly seems promising, with both Maresca and Chelsea hoping the pair are available for the FA Cup tie against Brighton on Saturday evening.

It was interesting to see Maresca prefer Guiu to Christopher Nkunku when replacing Jackson, and it seems maybe the teenager is now the alternative option at number nine.
Nkunku did come on later in the second half, and he’s now the alternative to Cole Palmer in the number ten role given the departure of Joao Felix to AC Milan for the remainder of the season.
