A year after leaving FC Nantes for the Saudi club NEOM SC in a €20m deal, Nathan Zézé (21) could well use the summer transfer window to return to European football.
At the forefront of the changes taking place in the Gulf – a region currently shaken by the war between Iran and the United States – the side that finished eighth in the last domestic league has seen its financial situation deteriorate.
Given this situation, parting ways with Zézé is now a distinct possibility. And as luck would have it, the Frenchman has suitors. According to reports in L’Équipe, Inter Milan, Al-Hilal, Real Sociedad, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Everton are all said to be interested in securing the French defender’s services.
Having already been keen to sign him last summer, the reigning Italian champions are reportedly still monitoring the situation, though they are not yet in a position to take immediate action. Real Sociedad, a La Liga member – that Zézé is said to fancy – also hopes to have a say in the matter. The same goes for Al-Hilal, which has virtually unlimited resources and could easily meet the 21-year-old’s demands. Not to mention the spectre of the Premier League, which inevitably looms large over the world’s greatest talents.
