Brahim Diaz, Sadio Mané, Achraf Hakimi in Africa Cup team of the tournament

The Confederation of African Football announced the Africa Cup of Nations team of the tournament two days after Senegal’s 1-0 extra-time win over Morocco in the final.

Only three nations are represented, with the finalists supplying the bulk. Four players each from Senegal and Morocco are included, along with three from Nigeria, who finished third after beating Egypt 0-0, 4-2 on penalties.

From the champions, the XI includes captain Sadio Mané, match-winner Pape Gueye, Idrissa Gueye and Lyon’s Moussa Niakhaté.

Morocco’s contingent comprises Brahim Diaz, the tournament’s top scorer, goalkeeper Yassine Bono, voted the competition’s best, plus Noussair Mazraoui and Achraf Hakimi.

Nigeria are represented by Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Calvin Bassey.
