Vinicius Jr has been Real Madrid’s best player so far this season, but his result at the Ballon d’Or did not help his cause.
Delivered a massive blow after missing out on the award, the youngster was said to be in serious disappointment for a long time, especially considering that he had taken it for granted that the award was his.
Real Madrid showed complete support for the player and did not send any representative to the event in Paris. Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti and Co. worked around the clock to ensure that the player stayed in positive spirits.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo in a recent interview, Brazil legend Rivaldo gave some much-needed advice to Vinicius Jr, especially keeping in mind his recent disappointment at the Ballon d’Or event.
“Vinicius has to get this Ballon d’Or story out of his head, start playing again and start playing well for Real Madrid, who have to win games after two consecutive defeats,” he said.
Elaborating on the same, he was confident that the player would lift the coveted accolade one day, saying,
“Vinicius is young, he has age and football to reverse all this. Someday win the Ballon d’Or. He can be the best in the world one or more times.”
The Barcelona legend then questioned the entire methodology of the Ballon d’Or voting, questioning whether those who had a say were actually qualified.
“All the journalists who vote, do they really understand football? Are they qualified to do so?”

While he was in support of the Real Madrid star winning the individual accolade, he did agree that Rodri was not an undeserved winner.
“I can’t belittle Rodri. He’s a player I like. For me, he was my second candidate. And yes, although I think he deserved the Vinicius Golden Ball more, I can’t take any credit away from the award, because I really admire Rodri. His player form and his style. I like it.”
Finally, the Brazilian legend gave his two cents on Carlo Ancelotti’s utilisation of Endrick.
“It’s normal for Ancelotti to protect Endrick. He is an intelligent coach and will know how to give him the right time to have more minutes. Now the situation is complicated and Ancelotti is managing it with head,” he said.
“There is a lot ahead. Your participation will be required later. You have to be calm. The same thing happens with Rodrygo. Peace of mind and work, who sooner or later will use all these players who are not having minutes,” he added.
