Brazil under-17s tune up for South American with Nova Iguaçu test

Brazil’s U-17 National Team played a training match this Monday (30) at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), against Nova Iguaçu U-17, with an eye on the South American Championship in the category, which will take place in Paraguay from April 3 to 19. Head coach Carlos Eduardo Patetuci gave his assessment of the activity.

“In our planning, we decided that we would make the most of the training period to consolidate the concepts and game behavior, following CBF’s game model. And we scheduled the training match for the end of the preparation. It was an excellent test for us, because the important thing was to apply what had been worked on in training, which were the game concepts, the behavior and the collective movements. The players applied it very well. I was satisfied,” said the coach of the U-17 National Team.

Preparation at Granja Comary will be completed this Tuesday (31) in the morning. The squad will travel to Paraguay on April 1.

Brazil is in Group B of the South American U-17 Championship, alongside Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.

As the current two-time South American U-17 champions, Brazil will make its debut in the competition against Bolivia on April 3 at 8 p.m. at Estádio Ameliano, in Villeta.
