Brenden Aaronson has hailed the people of Leeds and the club’s support as the standout part of living in the city. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Leeds United and USA midfielder offered his verdict while looking ahead to the World Cup.

Asked for his favourite part about life in Leeds, he said: “The people are great. The banter is great. I'd also say the football world in general. It's a special place to be when it comes to playing soccer.” It has also been a summer in which he got married.

After joining from Red Bull Salzburg in May 2022, he spent 2023-24 on loan at Union Berlin following United’s relegation in May 2023. He was reintegrated for 2024-25 after the play-off final defeat, helping Leeds win the Championship and seal promotion.

On United’s Premier League return in 2025-26, he registered four goals and five assists. He has been named in the USA squad for this summer’s World Cup and is now with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of Saturday’s opener. He also featured in Saturday’s final friendly against Germany, taking his tally to 58 caps at 25.

His brother Paxten, three years younger, has also been capped by the USA. Aaronson called lining up together “one of the most memorable moments ever”. “Being able to share the field with him, walk out with him and stand together during the national anthem is something I'll never forget.”
