Manchester United have made a point of trying to secure young talents lately such as Chido Obi, Sekou Kone and Enzo Kana Biyik.

South American talent search

The appointment of Christopher Vivell to director of recruitment at Old Trafford has resulted in United casting a wider net to search for young talent.

This has seen them begin to explore the South American market in a more intense fashion as they showed major interest in Franco Mastantuono before he finally signed for Real Madrid in the summer.

United have not been deterred though and signed Paraguayan left back Diego Leon, who has joined up with the first team squad this season.

They have also recently secured a deal for teenager Cristian Orozco from Fortaleza in Colombia.

New talent spotted

According to reports in Brazil, United may be on the verge of trying to sign another young South American talent.

Brazilian publication UOL has claimed that the Red Devils are one of many teams keeping a close eye on Corinthians’ Breno Bidon.

It is reported that “Corinthians has seen the list of European clubs interested in midfielder Breno Bidon grow over the last 30 days.”

The report informs that Napoli have entered the fray for the player and that PSV Eindhoven have already bid €9 million for the midfielder.

It is stated that “other major European clubs have also approached the player’s staff to begin negotiations ahead of the next transfer window.”´

In that group of clubs are Manchester United and their rivals, Manchester City. Arabian teams and FC Zenit Saint Petersburg are also said to be in the mix.

Who is he?

The 20 year old has played 24 times this season for Corinthians, scoring one goal and assisting another.

The midfielder came through the Brazilian side’s youth team and has been in the first team setup since last season.

He has also been a regular for the Brazil under-20 national side.

Bidon has been described as a player who “is already quite an impressive midfielder, and his talents on the ball are simply sublime.”

His vision, calmness and ability to dictate games has also been praised by those who know his game well.
