Brentford ‘agree’ £20m deal for Jaidon Anthony, St Johnstone ‘to take’ Liam McCarron on trial | OneFootball

Brentford have agreed a £20m deal in principle to sign Jaidon Anthony from Burnley, according to Fabrizio Romano. He reports a £17m fixed fee plus £3m in add-ons and a five-year contract.

Former Leeds youngster Liam McCarron is set to be handed a trial by newly-promoted SPL side St Johnstone, the Dundee Courier reports.

Anthony spent 2023-24 on loan at Leeds United from Bournemouth, then joined Burnley on a permanent deal in May 2025. Burnley are returning to the Championship after last season’s relegation, though the winger enjoyed a decent campaign.

McCarron joined Leeds from Carlisle United as an 18-year-old in July 2019. He made his first-team debut under Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League home defeat to Arsenal in December 2019.

He left Leeds for Stoke City in June 2022, had a loan at Port Vale, then moved to Northampton Town. McCarron joined Boston United in February this year and was released this summer when his contract expired.
