The forward dropped to the bench against Arsenal in midweek
Igor Thiago is in “a good place” as Brentford prepare to face Tottenham on Saturday.
The Brazilian, who has scored 12 goals in all competitions for Brentford this season, was a doubt for Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat at Arsenal after being withdrawn during the Bees’ 3-1 win over Burnley three days earlier.
Thiago was then named on the bench against the Gunners, coming on in the second half as Brentford fell to a derby defeat. Bees head coach Keith Andrews suggested at the time that the decision was tactical given the opposition and busy schedule.
And now Andrews has suggested that Thiago could start against Spurs.
"I'm not going to tell you the team, but he’s clearly in a good place.
"He's playing very, very well. He's going from strength to strength and we seem to be speaking about him a lot. And rightly so because he’s been magnificent.
"His mental strength is pretty evident, considering the type of season he had last year, where he's come from in his career, playing in different countries and now ending up here, having an impact in the most demanding league in the world."
Mikkel Damsgaard, Nathan Collins and Jordan Henderson should all return to the line-up for Brentford’s second clash in north London
Brentford have struggled away from home, winning just once on the road this term, but face a Spurs side with just one win in front of their own fans.
