Brighton & Hove Albion came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Brentford at a rain-soaked Amex Stadium, with Jack Hinshelwood scoring the decisive goal on his return from injury.

The visitors took the lead in the first half when Carlos Baleba’s challenge on Dango Ouattara led to a penalty, calmly converted by Igor Thiago for his ninth league goal of the season.

The hosts pressed for an equaliser, creating several chances, but Caoimhín Kelleher in the Brentford goal kept the visitors ahead.

The Seagulls finally levelled in the 71st minute as Danny Welbeck slotted home a precise finish from Yankuba Minteh’s delivery.

Fabian Hürzeler's side continued to push and were rewarded late on when Hinshelwood latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the box, driving it low past Kelleher to seal the comeback.

The Bees were handed a stoppage-time penalty that could have salvaged a point, but Thiago’s effort was comfortably saved by Bart Verbruggen.

With this result, Brighton move up to fifth in the table, while Brentford stay 12th.
