Bruno Henrique is set to extend his Flamengo contract to 2027, with only the signature pending. According to Globo.com, he has also surged on the pitch under Leonardo Jardim.

Back from a pubalgia lay-off for less than a month, he has appeared in all six Flamengo matches under Jardim in that spell. He started three and came off the bench in three, returning to action against Santos.

Across those six outings he has two goals and two assists, his best run since November, when he scored six in six under Filipe Luís. Under Jardim he has been used more dynamically.

Against Vitória he began as a second striker and finished on the left, where he felt most comfortable, supplying Pedro’s winner. In the Libertadores he has started as a centre-forward and is seen as the immediate back-up to the number nine, while offering width.

Talks advanced in the second week of April, with only minor points to finalise. The agreement would take him to nine years at the club.

Term to the end of 2027 and salary were set weeks ago, and his wages will not change. His 2024 renewal put him among the highest earners, but that is no longer the case, and despite a month and a half out the club never doubted his stay. At 35, the expectation is that he remains until he chooses to retire.
