Inter Milan finished their UEFA Champions League’s league-phase campaign on a high, beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on the road.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Cristian Chivu can be proud of Inter’s Pyrrhic victory at Signal Iduna Park.
The Nerazzurri bounce back from three consecutive Champions League defeats yesterday.
In doing so, Cristian Chivu avoided becoming the first-ever Inter manager to lose four matches at Europe’s top table in a row.
Furthermore, it marked Inter’s first ‘big game’ triumph under the former Parma boss.

Despite beating Dortmund, courtesy of goals from Federico Dimarco and Andy Diouf, Inter missed out on a top-eight finish.
Indeed, the San Siro giants will continue their European adventure in the playoff round.
However, Chivu can draw heart from Inter’s spirited performance in Germany and especially the fact that they kept Dortmund at bay.
Shutting out a team that had scored 57 goals across all competitions is no small feat by any stretch of the imagination.
