Schedule for the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League

The new edition of the 2025-2026 CAF Champions League gets underway this Friday, September 19, 2025, with the first preliminary round matches.

A total of 62 teams are competing in the tournament. The first preliminary round will be played over two legs: the first leg from September 19 to 21, 2025, and the return leg from September 26 to 28, 2025.

The winner of the 2025 CAF Confederation Cup, RS Berkane, begins their campaign against Togo's ASC Kara. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates, last season’s Champions League semi-finalists, will face Lesotho’s Lioli FC.
