Calhanoglu: Inter star drops Galatasaray transfer hint | OneFootball

Hakan Calhanoglu admits he’d like to play for Galatasaray one day, although he’s currently ‘very happy’ at Inter.

Experienced Inter midfielder Calhanoglu said in an interview with Turkish newspaper Sabah that he’d love to join Galatasaray in a few years.

“I am very happy at Inter, but I don’t know what the future holds,” the midfielder said via TMW.

“I would like to move there. I would be honoured to wear the Galatasaray jersey one day.”

Calhanoglu is also the Turkish national team captain and has a solid bond with his native country.

“My country and my homeland and very precious to me,” he said.

“I can’t find the words to describe the feeling of wearing the national team jersey and being the captain. It’s the best feeling in the world. I am aware of my responsibility; it’s an honour and a source of pride for me.”

Calhanoglu, 31, has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions with Inter this season.

The Turkey international is expected to start against his former club Milan in this evening’s first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals. Calhanoglu is under contract with Inter until June 2027.
