A huge night of boxing is in store on Saturday night as Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford face off in the main event in Las Vegas, topping an exciting undercard.

Mexican star Alvarez takes on American rival Crawford in an undisputed super middleweight title fight, with the IBF, WBC, WBA and WBO belts all on the line.

It has been billed as the biggest fight of the year and, by some, as potentially one of the biggest in the history of the sport.

But that is not the only show at the Allegiant Stadium, with three further fights scheduled for the undercard and another seven on the preliminary card.

The biggest fight of the undercard sees Irishman Callum Walsh and Fernando Vargas Jr, of Mexico, put their undefeated records on the line in a super welterweight bout.

Walsh, 24, boasts a 14-0 record, with 11 knockouts, and a growing reputation in the sport for his finishing power and southpaw style. Vargas Jr, son of the two-time light middleweight world champion of the same name, is four years older and has a 17-0 record with 15 knockouts.

Both have a reach of 72 inches in what appears to be an even match on paper, and one which many are expecting to go the distance.

Another bout between two undefeated fighters sees Christian Mbilli take on Lester Martinez. Cameroon-born Mbilli has a 29-0 record, with 24 knockouts, and is the WBC interim champion. Having honed his craft in Canada, the 30-year-old has built a following through his entertaining, high-volume attacking style.

Martinez, with a 19-0 record and 16 knockouts, hails from Guatemala and is one year younger than Mbilli at 29 years old. Martinez is considered a more versatile and, perhaps, the more complete fighter. This bout has been billed as flash vs discipline by some, making it an intriguing bout.

Mohammed Alakel

The first fight on the undercard is Mohammed Alakel vs John Ornelas. Alakel, 21, is an undefeated lightweight from Saudi Arabia with a 5-0 record, and one knockout, having started his professional career less than a year ago on the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol undercard.

He would go on to feature on the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2 undercard soon after and was most recently seen knocking out India's Yumnam Santosh Singh in the first round in Riyad. This is his first bout outside of the Gulf state.

Ornelas is 12 years Alabel's senior but has just three more fights under his belt, having recently lost his undefeated record to Terell Bostic in January. His first fight was against Keith Carson in 2021, and has fought steadily heading into the biggest stage of his career in Las Vegas.
