Real Madrid will take on Celta Vigo away from home on Saturday evening in their first match after the recent international break.

Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press ahead of the match and high on the agenda was the wellbeing of star forward Kylian Mbappe, following his commission from the France squad.

When asked about the Frenchman, as per Diario AS, Ancelotti said he is ‘Close to 100%. He’s doing very well. It’s a pleasure to watch him train.

There was also talk about the recent controversy surrounding the 25-year-old, with Ancelotti deflecting many of the questions asked by the press regarding the situation.

I’m not here to comment on speculation. I’m focusing on the work he does.‘ Ancelotti said when asked if what is going on is personally affecting the striker.

Ancelotti was then asked whether Mbappe’s trip to Sweden was given the OK by the coach, to which he responded ‘The days off were scheduled for him and then its up to him what he wants to do. I went to London for two days and I haven’t asked anyone for permission. I don’t have a travel agency to organize the players’ trips either.

It is likely that Mbappe will be fully recharged ahead of his side’s next match at Balaídos, but it seems as though talk will continue to be about his actions off the pitch, at least for the near future.
