Michael Carrick is expected to be announced as the permanent Manchester United manager this weekend according to reports.

The former Red Devils midfielder took over at the club back in January, beginning his stint with wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.

Carrick's audition has been enough to convince the club's higher ups that he is the right man for the job with the Champions League football secured.

According to journalist Sami Mokbel of BBC Sport, there is now an agreement between all sides with only the formalities left to be completed. An announcement is reportedly expected within 48 hours.

The former Middlesbrough boss has overseen 15 games since his return to the club, winning 10, drawing two, and suffering two defeats.
