One former Blues striker has slammed a current Chelsea player who he calls as ‘non-existent’ after their latest defeat in the Premier League.
Chelsea got thrashed 3-0 by Brighton on Friday night after losing 2-1 against them in the FA Cup the weekend before that, making is a completely embarrassing aggregate scoreline across the two games for The Blues.
Chelsea’s defeat against Brighton on Friday night has been named as the ‘worst performance’ under Enzo Maresca so far, and they are not wrong with that analysis at all.
There has been plenty of debate over who is to blame for how bad Chelsea are right now, with fingers being pointed at not just Maresca, but at the sporting directors who built this squad, as well as directly at the club owners. And the stats have backed up that all three have to share the blame right now.
It’s been really abysmal for Chelsea since Christmas, and they are now in real danger of losing out on even getting Champions League football this season after being close to the top just before Christmas.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino was unhappy with Christopher Nkunku after Friday night’s game but more so at Maresca for even picking him again.
Nkunku, I’m sorry, you’re carrying him as a centre-forward,” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
“I had no idea why Maresca selected him after the performance he put in in the cup game against Brighton. He was non-existent. And what did we see last night? Exactly the same performance. I will give him one benefit of the doubt: he is not a centre-forward.”
It’s certainly looking very bleak for Chelsea right now with injuries on top of everything else they are struggling with.
