FC Barcelona will be aiming to keep up the pace with league leaders and arch-rivals Real Madrid when they take on Getafe tomorrow on Matchday 5 of the 2025/26 La Liga.
The Blaugrana have ten points from four games thus far, five points behind Real Madrid, who have won five in five, beating RCD Espanyol earlier today.
Barcelona, though, have had an excellent past week, first thrashing Valencia 6-0 in La Liga before securing a convincing 2-1 win over Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League.
And, Hansi Flick & co. will hope to carry that momentum forward tomorrow against Jose Bordalas’ men and secure all three points at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Barça, though, are once again set to be without key players like Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and Lamine Yamal.
Meanwhile, rotations are also in order, considering that some players like Pau Cubarsi and Ronald Araujo finished with some physical problems against Newcastle. With that in mind, here’s how Barcelona could line up against Getafe on Sunday.
While Hansi Flick confirmed in his press conference that Pau Cubarsi will be available, it is unlikely that he will be risked, given the number of important fixtures coming up in a short space. The same holds for Ronald Araujo, who was cramping up vs Newcastle.
As such, the centre-back pairing of Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen, which started against Rayo Vallecano, is likely to get the nod against Getafe.
As for the full-back positions, Jules Kounde is the undisputed starter and should keep hold of his place. But there may be a maiden start for teenage defensive prodigy Jofre Torrents at left-back ahead of Gerard Martin.

The absence of Gavi means Flick does not have the full depth to rotate in midfield, but considering that Frenkie de Jong only recently returned from a fitness issue, he could be given a break.
It should open the doors for Marc Casado to start in midfield after he excelled in his previous start against Valencia last weekend.
Pedri, who has started each game so far this season, should continue that record and look to turn in another masterful display after shining at Newcastle.
There could, however, be a change in the attacking midfield role, with Dani Olmo getting a rare chance to impress after having fallen behind Fermin Lopez in the pecking order.
As far as the frontline is concerned, Raphinha should continue on the right wing in the absence of Lamine Yamal, while Marcus Rashford is unlikely to be replaced after his match-winning double against Newcastle United in midweek.
Up top, though, Ferran Torres could return to spearhead the attack in place of Robert Lewandowski, who made his first start of the season at St. James’ Park.
There could be minutes in store for youngsters like Roony Bardghji and Toni Fernandez, depending on how the game unfolds.
