Casemiro has joined Inter Miami on a free transfer, signing on Wednesday. According to L'Équipe, the Brazilian's deal runs to the end of the 2027 MLS season, with an option to extend.

Inter Miami, often inclined to surround Lionel Messi with former Barcelona team-mates or international colleagues, have broken with that approach to recruit the former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder. The 2027 MLS campaign concludes in May, and the option in his contract could keep him at the club until 2029.

Casemiro, 34, is coming off a full season with Manchester United, making 34 Premier League appearances, 33 as a starter.

The Brazil international, capped 91 times with 10 goals, then featured at the World Cup. He started every match under Carlo Ancelotti for a Brazil side knocked out in the round of 16 after a 1-2 defeat by Norway.

This move marks his departure from Europe, where he had played since 2013.
