CBF released the VAR audio from Carrascal’s sending off in Flamengo v Palmeiras.

Palmeiras beat Flamengo 3-0 on Saturday 23 in the 17th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with goals from Flaco López, Allan and Paulinho.

Flamengo midfielder Carrascal was dismissed on 20 minutes after a high-boot challenge that caught defender Murilo in the face.

Abel said the red card was fair, noting a similar situation could have occurred in the Libertadores final, and that the match then changed.

He still felt the win was deserved, achieved on a difficult pitch against quality players and a good coach.

Abel praised the supporters, saying they were loud throughout, that he respects their demands and that his promise is always to do his best.

Palmeiras face Junior Barranquilla in the Libertadores on 28 May at 19:00 Brasília time.
