Sevilla are evaluating a surprise proposal from Galicia to sell winger Alfon, with a return to Balaídos gathering momentum despite his current injury.

Zona Mixta reports that Alfon faces seven to eight weeks out, ruling him out of Luis García Plaza’s pre-season and the opening league fixtures.

Celta Vigo have emerged as late suitors to bring him back, and the move has the approval of Porriño-born head coach Claudio Giráldez.

The forward is understood to favour a return to Balaídos, and Celta are thought to be willing to wait until the final stages of the window.

Sevilla are open to negotiating given his limited impact. Signed on a free in summer 2025, Alfon struggled to adapt to Matías Almeyda’s demands, then left on loan to Villarreal CF in the winter window.

A permanent exit would not disrupt the squad and could deliver a welcome net gain for the club’s finances.

Away from Alfon, Sevilla’s recruitment team are prioritising departures to ease the wage cap, working on exits for Tanguy Nianzou, Joan Jordán, Fábio Cardoso and Federico Gattoni.

Significant sales are also possible in the coming weeks, with Akor Adams and the Swiss Rubén Vargas on the list as the latter’s World Cup displays boost his value.
