Brendan Rodgers has had his eye on the striker during the past two transfer windows, but Celtic couldn’t finalise a move for the Denmark U21 star in January.

Following Kyogo’s £10million move to Ligue 1 side Rennes in the January window, Rodgers shuffled the pack and moved Player of the Year certainty Daizen Maeda up top whilst also using Adam Idah.

However, with the Irishman keen to reinforce his frontline when the transfer window reopens in June, Celtic’s pursuit of Kvistgaarden is still very much alive.

Celtic still actively chasing the 23-year-old goalscorer

According to Tipsbladet, Celtic are still actively chasing the 23-year-old, continuing their persistent efforts to sign the Danish forward after a prolonged interest.

However, the 2022 Europa League winners are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Kvistgaarden as they seek a replacement for Omar Marmoush, who departed for Manchester City in January. Brondby are expected to demand a fee of approximately €13 million [£11.1 million], aiming to land a record-breaking sale when the summer transfer window opens.

Frankfurt ready to invest heavily in Kvistgaarden

Frankfurt is ready to invest heavily in Kvistgaarden, tempting him with a lucrative offer as the forward eyes a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues, while the prospect of Champions League football adds to the appeal with Dino Toppmöller’s side who are currently third in the Bundesliga.

By contrast, the Scottish Premiership champions must first battle through the qualifying rounds to earn a spot in the coveted league stage of Europe’s elite club competition.

Following the breakdown of a potential winter move, Kvistgaarden acknowledged that his departure from Brondby might be on the horizon.

“It could be soon. There will be a transfer window this summer,” Kvistgaarden

He said last month: “It could be soon. There will be a transfer window this summer, which will be very exciting. But we’ll have to see what happens. I hope the right thing happens at the right time. I’m in a good place.”

“I’ve gone from being a young boy to being more experienced, and I’m really happy about that. I’ve played over 100 games for this fantastic club, so there’s some experience that comes with it, that I don’t have to be the young player who comes in and gives it the hell all the time.”
