Celtic are reportedly consider a loan deal for Giuseppe Ambrosino. The Scottish Champions have sent an enquiry to Italian Champions Napoli over the availability of the Italian U21 attacker with a view to agreeing a loan to buy deal.

Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph reports that Celtic have made an enquiry and that Ambrosino is keen on the move.

The player spent last season with Frosinone Calcio, scoring 5 goals and assisting 4 times on 37 outings. Celtic are looking at strengthening their front line with Daizen Maeda, Adam Idah and Callum Osmond, along with Johnny Kenny, fighting it out for the coveted starting role. Despite a season in Serie B, Celtic face competition from other Serie A clubs for the signature of the player but Champions League football could certainly be a deciding factor.

The news regarding Ambrosino comes as Norwich City near completion of a deal to sign Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby. The Danish attacker has been linked with Celtic for the last two years and appears to be available for £9.5m plus add-ons.

The move to the Championship would suggest that Kvistgaarden was attainable by Celtic but they have decided to look elsewhere. Brendan’s comments about value were interesting mid season when he stated that Maeda could continue through the middle as the club would get better value buying wide players as opposed to strikers.

Elsewhere, Celtic are considering a £3million move for Dutch central defender Justin de Haas.
