Celtic look set to sign Morton youngster Isaac English. The Scottish Champions have spied the Cappielow talent as a possible development recruit.
According to Sun Sport, Celtic are close to agreeing a £50k fee for the player, which would see the player join Celtic’s Academy.
English was part of the Ton Under-18s side that won the Club Academy Scotland Performance League. The defender is yet to make a first team bow for Dougie Imrie but the manager has included the player in his training sessions with the senior squad.
Remarkably, the report states that this would be the first transfer from Morton in which they’ve received a fee since 2013 when they sold Michael Tidser to Rotherham.
Celtic have been making moves early in the transfer window with Kieran Tierney returning on a five year deal. The Scottish Champions are also expected to complete deals with sign Benjamin Nygren, Ross Doohan and Callum Osmond. Brendan is keen to get his business done early doors, especially with the UEFA Champions League Playoff in August. The club are eager to shift a number of fringe players, who will return from loan clubs this summer.
