Celtic v BSC Young Boys – A tremendous opportunity for the Celtic players

Celtic were hard at work yesterday preparing for tonight’s visit of BSC Young Boys in our next UEFA Champions League group stage match…

The Bhoys were put through their paces up at Lennoxtown by Brendan Rodgers and his staff, ahead of of what will be a pivotal clash on the road to the knockout rounds of the competition this season.

Near enough a full deck of cards to play with

The Irishman has near enough a full deck of cards to play with against Giorgio Contini and his men, with James Forrest the only notable absentee at this moment in time. The Scottish winger will be a miss though, as nights like this are what he is all about and he has given us some really memorable times in a Celtic jersey when playing in Europe.

It will fall on the rest of his comrades to ensure we grasp the nettle and take the fight to Young Boys. Against Club Brugge in our last outing at home, we allowed the Belgians to settle on the ball early doors and that’s what they drew their confidence from. We cannot and must not allow that to happen again and should come flying out the traps and with the assistance of the crowd, spook the lowest ranked team in the Champions League this year.

A great opportunity for Celtic players

Once more, it’s a great opportunity for Celtic players to go and make their mark in Europe and a big performance from Arne Engels would be excellent for his development. Likewise, another big display at the back from Auston Trusty would go a considerable distance in reassuring supporters he is completely over that recent wobble and can be relied upon regularly beside CCV.

Whoever gets the nod, we need a big performance and even those who make an appearance from the bench need to have a considerable output in this match. Your Adam Idah, Luke McCowan, Yang and Paulo Bernardo are all possibly names that could fit this bill and will be essential in getting us over to the Promised Land.
