Celtic take on St Mirren tomorrow lunchtime as Celtic Park fills to celebrate yet another Trophy Day as the Scottish Premiership trophy makes the short journey from the boardroom at Celtic Park to the centre of the park for Callum McGregor to lift to great acclaim from the Celtic support inside the stadium and watching around the world.

Before that trophy is lifted and the medals distributed there’s the last game of the campaign to take care of and it’s St Mirren who are the visitors to Paradise.  Still chasing a European split, Steven Robinson will have his team up for the challenge of playing the champions, probably playing with a low block and looking to benefit from set pieces or transitions.

It’s likely that Brendan Rodgers will name his strongest possible side with a view to the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen a week tomorrow. James Forrest is still chasing that elusive goal so judging by Brendan’s comments post match on Wednesday night when he turned the tables on a hack by asking him if he reckons that Jamesy should start on Saturday, I reckon he will be in the starting XI with the Celtic side being as follows:

Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Bernardo, Engels; Kuhn, Maeda, Forrest.

Can’t see Reo Hatate being fit or even risked after that awful challenge at Pittodrie. We’ll hear today from Brendan but the  most likely outcome is that his season is over.  Daizen should be fine to start and merits the striker’s role, allowing Jamesy to play on the left wing.  It’s a toss up between Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo to replace Reo but Paulo’s probably getting the nod but both will get their chance to claim a final spot if Reo doesn’t make it.

Meanwhile the match officials for tomorrow’s match  have been confirmed by the Scottish FA on their official website.

David Dickinson will have the whistle below his blue-nose for the Celtic v St Mirren match tomorrow at Celtic Park and he will be assisted by Ross Nelson and Steven Traynor, both running the touchlines. Calum Scott leads on VAR and he will be assisted by Andrew McWilliam.

Kick-off is at 12.30pm and the match is live on Sky Sports with Celtic TV also streaming live around the world to subscribers based outside of Britain and Ireland. After the celebrations at Celtic Park the Celtic support will gather at Trongate and the Merchant City for the biggest ever title party the city of Glasgow has ever seen, with Glasgow City Council’s actions certain to add many thousands to the numbers.
